Just wanted to wish everyone and their families a Happy Thanksgiving! I especially want to wish our deployed service members a happy Thanksgiving, wherever you are! (Just FYI, you can celebrate this holiday any time you want when you get home safely!)
For those that don't know the origin of Thanksgiving, you can find it on History.com, HERE.
Gobble Gobble everyone!
I thought I'd post to say that people on my mailing list just got some awesome coupon codes for my two new books coming out December 1st! As far as some swag goes, the email also contained a way to get some bookmarks with the cover art from my books on them.
If this sounded cool to you and you missed it, fear not! I send out emails only when I release a new story, (so as not to spam you). YOU could get the next one, but only if you sign up for my mailing list! It's over there --------------------> (on the right hand side of my blog.)
Have a great day!
And just because I'm a nice guy, I decided to make you all a 3-pack, containing books one, two, and three!
Both books will be released on December 1st, 2016. Unfortunately, CreateSpace doesn't do pre-orders (Or I haven't figured out how to do them there), so if you want the paperbacks, you'll just have to buy it then.
Just a heads up! smashwords.com is having a site-wide sale from July 1st to July 31st. I've marked all my books down by 25%, so I hope this might entice some of you who want to read my stuff!
You can find all my books on smashwords HERE!
Tomorrow starts July's session of Camp NaNoWriMo! I wish I could join, but I have three projects I'm trying to wrap up. I'll get there, just need to sit down and work on them.
If you feel like donating, NaNoWriMo has a number of different programs, including the Young Writers Program, a Come-Write-In program, Camp NaNoWriMo, and of course, NaNoWriMo itself. You can learn about the programs HERE!
They also have some neat gear HERE.
To all you camp writers, I wish you all a good luck, and I hope you have fun writing!
Independence Day 2 has a website where you type in your address and your home will get blasted by pesky aliens! It's pretty neat, but I think they are overcompensating the marketing, and when that happens, the movie usually suffers... I loved the first one, and I'm going to hold no reservations about the second until I see it!
Here's the link to destroy your house:
Have fun destroying things!
Felt like writing something new today, so I burned through The Crymson Guard Storysode 05. Still needs to be edited and whatnot, but at least I got it done! I also started 06 as well! So now there's a line for the editing queue... Someday I'll get Death's Judgement done, really, I will!
Short post, just felt like writing something!
Onto the writing news!
I managed to submit three of my stories to various markets. They were called "Blink", "The Pilot Prototype", and "Human Cooking - 101". "Human Cooking - 101" was already denied, but I still have two of them that are possible! I'm not worried. If they get picked up, that's great, but I'm not going to cry if they don't. Rejections are part of the gig, and I've got quite a bit of them - and it's okay! At least I am trying!
As far as "Death's Judgement" editing goes... I honestly can't believe I got away with some of the crap I wrote! So yes, I'm re-writing it slowly, and it's turning out pretty wonderful if I do say so myself!
That's all for now, go take in an adventure and stop reading blogs for a bit!
I moved into the second draft of Death's Judgement with a fury! I think I've re-written more than I've reviewed! Along with that, I'm working on a short story to see if I can get paid to write. Will it happen? I dunno, but here's to hoping!
FInally, sometimes I get bored and end up surfing the net, and quickly run out of good things on there. If you're like me, you should check THIS out! It does have a lot of swearing, which is probably why I like it, but the whole site is dedicated to a very different view of old myths!
That's about all the excitement I'm having, how about you? Feel free to leave me comments! Please? Hello? Is anyone still listening?
I have failed my Camp NaNoWriMo.
I'm not totally disheartened though, the NaNoWriMo's are a tough challenge, especially when you have a day job and a family! Besides, I got around 8k words to use when I work on it in the future.
That being said, I think the idea for this book would make a better movie script than a book, so I might take it that way instead. We'll see!
On the plus side, this gives me time to finish off Death's Judgement (Book 3 of the Avatar Series). So look for that!
Until next time,
